Which tools we cover
We focus on products that US shoppers search for and can actually buy, starting with the best-known names in each category and adding smaller tools when they offer something different, such as a better free plan or a lower price.
Where our information comes from
We use each company’s official pricing pages, feature pages, help documents and published terms. When a company does not publish something, we say so instead of guessing.
What we check on every page
- Price: the cost of each plan and the billing period it applies to, including renewal price when it is published.
- Free plan or trial: what is included and where the limits start.
- Key features: the ones that matter most in that category.
- Platforms: the devices and operating systems supported.
- Cancellation and refunds: where the company publishes them.
- Who it fits: and who should look elsewhere.
Category-specific checks
- Tax software: federal and state filing fees, free-filing eligibility limits, forms supported, importing last year’s return and support options.
- Budgeting apps: price, bank connections, shared budgets, reports and export options.
- Password managers: free-plan limits, supported devices, sharing, two-factor options and family plans.
- VPNs: device limits, server locations, protocols, published privacy policy and price after the first term.
How we reach a verdict
Each comparison ends with a short verdict that says who should pick which tool and who should skip it. Verdicts follow the checks above. Advertising does not decide them.
Keeping pages current
Prices and plans change often. The last-updated date on a page shows when we last checked it against official sources, and we re-check popular pages regularly. Companies can change plans without notice, so confirm the final price on the provider’s own site before you buy.
Corrections
If you spot an error or an outdated price, email hellojugaadai@gmail.com with the page address and a link to the source if you have one. We will check it, fix the page and update the date.
Independence
The site earns money from advertising, which does not change what we write.
How to verify a comparison
Product and pricing claims should link to the relevant first-party pricing, feature, help or policy page. A provider page is evidence of what the provider publishes, not independent proof that every marketing claim is true. Where a statement has not been independently tested, the page should say so rather than implying a hands-on test.
